Bleached milpa veneer is hand cut and carefully laid in a patchwork pattern. The pattern highlights the subtle tones of this special and rare material. Milpa wood is primarily sourced from cornfields in Mexico where farmers buried the trees stumps to make way for planting. Buried underground the wood develops its own spectacular patina and is then sun-bleached.
